Devil's Rhapsody
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Fall to Hell
Can you get your life back?
In comes the Devil with an offer: find six ghosts, capture their spirits, and then she'll give you back your life.
Devil's Rhapsody is a puzzle adventure game with an intricate story, some rhythm game piano sections and a cool final boss fight.
Explore the town in search of the lost ghosts. Relive the hours before their deaths. Figure out how all their stories connect.
Each ghost has their own theme for you to play on piano before they'll move on. And once you've got all six spirits, the Devil will be waiting...
The Hill, the Mines, the Orphanage, the Tunnels, the Theatre and the Manor House...
This is an old game I made for my EPQ in sixth form. The music was all made in Sibelius on the school computers and so it has some charm to it, I suppose. The plot is often dramatic and there are some secrets in there too. And I'm not the best artist in the world, but I tried my best.
- 4 playable characters
- 20+ music tracks
- Interconnected storylines
- Puzzles and secrets
- Rhythm game piano fights
- An overarching mystery
Warning: contains suggestions of suicide.

Really wonderful game through and through. It took me a bit on the final boss before I really flowed and it only took a couple of runs after that before I cleared it. I initially thought the boss was going to iterate on the initial melody six times, but perhaps that would have been too much.
Anyhow, the game is perfectly forgiving in those sections. Of course, the game isn't just the boss fight, it's just where my head's at because its where I finished. The story has a simple through-line that's easy to access, and a satisfying depth and interconnectedness if you care to look for it. There's also something very crisp about this style of artwork once you're in it. Nice game.

A lovely game that wears its inspiration on its sleeve. The soundtrack to the fights is excellent. I'm thorougly stuck on the final boss, but I got to the first interlude and it gets props for what it's doing there. I just wish it had checkpoints like the battle that is its distant ancestor, haha.
Probably a bit of a long shot by commenting here, but hopefully someone sees this and can help me out! I've gotten all the ghosts except for the one in the tunnels. I don't even know where the tunnels are for that matter. I thought the house with the chalk drawings might have something to do with it (since its the only location that doesn't seem to have a gameplay function yet) but I don't see any way of interacting with the stuff in there or stuff in any other map. Any ideas where I'm supposed to be looking for the way forward?
Yep, it's the place with the chalk drawings. Something there is interactable - in a strict order. Create one continuous path.
yeah i forgot to edit this comment but i was able to figure it out! i swear i interacted with the floor thingies before but nothing happened. must not have been standing in the exact right spot though. thanks for replying anyway!
so cool
Thoroughly enjoyable game, excellent music and sufficient difficulty for a fun play experience. Very satisfying final boss fight and end to the game.
Nice like NES visual!
Fun puzzles and an unfolding story, tied together with brilliant music! What more can you literally ask for???
Fascinating and enjoyable game! Particularly loved the music. Man, when I beat that final boss fight I was elated beyond belief lmao
